Tour Itinerary

Day 1 Depart UK
Morning flight from London Heathrow with Qantas.

Day 2 Connecting flight in Singapore, arrive Perth

Please ask us about the opportunity to stop over for two nights in Singapore – a unique and fascinating city where East meets West. Afternoon arrival into Perth, the capital of Western Australia and the world’s most isolated city. We will be transferred to our centrally-located hotel, the Travelodge Perth, and the evening is at leisure for you to enjoy your first night in Australia.

Day 3 Perth

This morning we will take a sightseeing tour of Perth, a beautiful modern city blessed with golden beaches, lush parkland and a warm sunny climate. Our tour also takes us via the coastal route to the laid-back port of Fremantle, and we will cruise back to Perth along the Swan River.

Day 4 Perth

A full day at leisure. We have the chance of an optional excursion to the Pinnacles, a remarkable series of limestone formations in the Nambung National Park, reached via a scenic drive through the wineries of the Swan Valley.

Day 5 Perth – Alice Springs

We leave the West behind as we fly to the Red Centre and the outback town of Alice Springs, established in the 1870’s as a staging post for the overland telegraph line between Darwin and Adelaide. Our home for the next two nights is the All Seasons Oasis.

Day 6 Alice Springs

Today is yours to explore at leisure, or to take advantage of an optional excursion to the nearby Western McDonnell Ranges. This full day excursion gives us a real feel for life as it was lived in the outback by the early pioneers.

Day 7 Alice Springs – Ayers Rock

Our sightseeing this morning includes a visit to the famous Royal Flying Doctor Service and the School of the Air, unique institutions which give an insight into the realities of life in the outback today. We then drive to the Uluru - Kata Tjuta National Park to visit the Olgas, a dramatic series of rounded sandstone domes, before arriving at sunset to view the changing colours of Uluru, the Aboriginal Australian name for Ayers Rock. We spend tonight at the Outback Pioneer Hotel.

Day 8 Ayers Rock - Cairns

An early start today for those wanting to make a dawn visit to Uluru. This iconic monolith has deep cultural significance for the Aboriginal community, and we will take a gentle stroll around the base of the Rock to learn more about its history and importance. Later, we fly to Cairns in tropical Queensland, where we will spend the next three nights at the Mercure Harbourside Hotel, on Cairns’ Esplanade.

Day 9 Cairns

A full day at leisure, and your chance to take an optional excursion to one of the natural wonders of the world and the only living organism visible from space – the Great Barrier Reef. There will be a marine naturalist on hand to offer an insight into reef life, and the opportunity to snorkel in the clear blue waters (weather permitting).

Day 10 Cairns

Today is left free, with the option of an excursion to the picturesque market town of Kuranda, known as the ‘village in the rainforest’.We travel to Kuranda by scenic railway and return via the Skyrail, a cableway which glides above the rainforest canopy.

Day 11 Cairns - Sydney

A late morning departure to Sydney. From its sparkling harbour to its pristine sandy beaches, from its excellent museums and galleries to its fabulous shops and lively café culture, it’s easy to see why Sydney is one of the world’s favourite cities. The centrally located Travelodge Wynyard is our home for the next three nights.

Day 12 Sydney

This morning, we will enjoy a sightseeing tour of this wonderful city. Sights will include Bondi Beach, Parliament House, the Royal Botanical Gardens, and of course the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

Day 13 Sydney

Today we have the chance to join an optional trip to the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains, a perfect example of native Australian bushland. We will enjoy panoramic views of gum trees, gorges and glorious peaks, and journey through pretty villages which are home to many local artists.

Day 14 Depart Sydney

A leisurely start to the day before we leave Sydney in the afternoon to return to the UK via a connecting flight in Bangkok. Please ask us about extending your holiday with a two night stopover in Bangkok, your chance to taste Thai culture amid the ancient temples and monuments and the colourful floating markets.
